William Ang — extended biography

William Ang joined Abacus Semiconductor Corporation as Managing Director & General Manager for Asia, Pacific & Japan as part of the executive management team. He is also responsible to support CEO’s business strategy; and oversight and management of strategic partnerships globally, and executing business development strategies to identify new markets, customer types, and to leverage synergistic opportunities with global partners to grow the company’s business.

William Ang has spent over 30 years working in high technology general management, business development, sales, business development, product marketing, supply chain, consulting, and finance. He is a transformational, dynamic turn-around specialist with proven track records of building and leading high-performance teams by transforming underperforming enterprises into successful profitable companies around the globe.

Before joining Abacus Semiconductor, William began his career at Toshiba Semiconductor as a sales and marketing executive, and then he moved to Samsung Electronics where he served as Sales Manager for non-memory division. Later, William moved to Viking Technology, A Sanmina Division where he was the General Manager/Sr Sales Director for Asia Pacific & Japan and then he moved to Smart Modular Technologies, SGH where he is responsible for Sr Sales Director/GM for Asia Pacific & Japan.

William holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Marketing from University of Hull, UK & he’s also a public volunteer writer in Singapore.

Apart from being the MD & GM of Abacus Semiconductor, William also serves as Vice President of Sales & Marketing of a leading semiconductor distribution company.
