Axel Kloth, Director & Chairman of the Board

Axel Kloth

Axel Kloth is the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is not only a tech luminary, he has proven on many occasions that he can build a team from scratch, even starting with interns and recent graduates. In his most recent startup prior to Abacus, Axel built a team of about 30 engineering graduates that managed to bring a project from the idea and definition stage to taped-out chip in less than 4 years and for under $20M. Axel was instrumental in raising the funds for this endeavor. Prior to that, Axel was the founder and CTO of SSRLabs and Parimics. For more information on Axel please refer to his page.



Dan Mahoney, Director

Dan Mahoney

Dan’s 35-year career in the technology field includes 10 years as CEO of a large semiconductor company and 3 as CEO of a technology start-up. Having overseen all aspects of a complex business, Dan is particularly passionate about aligning an organization’s full potential with its mission and strategy, and relentlessly focusing on achieving its goals. He also loves developing the leadership capacity of company executives and deepening key customer relationships. His work as an adjunct MBA professor keeps him on the leading edge of leadership and management theory, and he teaches Design Thinking to MBA students in a course that has included a wide variety of design projects serving the Spokane business and non-profit communities. His executive experience, his for-profit and non-profit board work, and his peer group advisory practice qualify him well to make sure good theory and strategy are translated into crisp execution and performance.
